Ridge & Valley Insurance Journal welcomes articles from people who work in or around insurance in East Tennessee: agents, adjusters, underwriters, claims professionals, attorneys, contractors, public adjusters, risk managers, educators, and emergency managers. Every submission is reviewed by an editor before anything is published.
What we are looking for
- Practical explanations of how coverage, claims, or regulations work in Tennessee.
- Lessons from the field: what you see after East Tennessee storms, floods, and losses, and what people wish they had known.
- Guides for people entering the industry: licensing, continuing education, career paths.
- Local topics: lake and waterfront property, rural and farm exposures, mountain and short-term rentals, growing communities, and small business risk.
Guidelines
- Original and unpublished. Articles must not appear elsewhere, including on your own website.
- Length. 700 to 2,000 words is typical.
- Educational, not promotional. No sales language, rate quotes, “call us today” offers, or rankings of companies or agencies. You may mention your company once in your author bio.
- Cite your sources. Link to the statute, agency page, or study for any legal requirement, deadline, or statistic.
- Disclose connections. Tell us your employer and any financial connection to a product, company, or service mentioned in the article.
- One bio link. You may include one link to your own website in your author bio. Contributed links are marked
rel="ugc nofollow". - Your responsibility. You confirm the article is your own work, is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you have permission for any images you submit.
- Editing. We may edit for clarity, accuracy, length, and our standards. We will send substantive changes to you before publishing.
- No payment. We do not pay for articles and do not accept payment to publish them.
